Ebenezer

Ebenezer Gyawu-Mante: Chief Executive

Raising the awareness of learning disability is vital to our cause. We aim to ensure these groups are no longer isolated or live on societal fringes as they have always been.

Emmanuel

Dr Emmanuel Akuffo: Director

People with learning disabilities have a greater risk of developing epilepsy, motor and sensory difficulties, obesity and certain types of mental health problems. Untreated health problems may compound the difficulties faced by people with learning disabilities and seriously affect their quality of life. It is important therefore to ensure that they have access to regular health checks including dental and health action plan.

Esther

Esther Nana Quarcoe: Deputy Director/Director of Social Care

We aim to provide health care, basic education, better social conditions and to address the myths and superstitions surrounding learning disability, as well as working towards the alleviation of poverty among carers. I am concerned with the effect that hostile physical and social environments have on learning disabled people in Ghana. I therefore aim to do my best to fight the poverty and discrimination they face, and to promote a stress-free and inclusive environment for learning disabled people.

Amy

Amy Damptey: Director of Health

Physical health affects people's social life and in some cases their mental state. As the Director of Health, my aim is to ensure that the learning disabled have access to proper health care in order to eliminate the associated links between physical health problems and psychological, socio-economic and stress problems, and to some extent suicidal tendencies.

Melanie Nelson: Director of Skills and Vocational Training

As the Director of Skills and Vocational Training, I am committed to making sure that those we help get suitable skills and training to enable them to live an independent life. In light of this, an individual's talents will be recognised and appropriate skills training will be provided. This will empower and promote them, and will also eliminate the social exclusion that is associated with the lives of learning disabled people.

Comfort

Comfort Okoh: Carers Coordinator

Please support carers so that they can support those that they are caring for.
